The Applied Sciences Program has developed new staff positions within each of the Program Application Areas – Disasters, Ecological Forecasting, Health & Air Quality, and Water Resources – to aid the Program Managers in tracking Applied Sciences-funded projects.
The Associates will ensure that projects meet schedule, cost, and performance goals. In addition, they will support program strategic planning by identifying Earth observing application gaps and new opportunities to utilize NASA Earth observations for decision-making purposes.

The new Associates will meet at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. on February 29th, 2012 for a kick-off event to discuss roles and responsibilities.
