NASA Weather Program:
NASA's Weather Applications Program focuses on advancing the realization of societal and economic benefits from NASA Earth Science to support weather-effected economic interests, currently including aviation and space weather. The application is particularly focused on applications to support the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen), in partnership with the FAA and NOAA. As appropriate, the application may expand to support other specific weather-effected economic interests to improve the global mobility of people and material.

Weather Projects: The Weather Applications Program supports in-depth, end-to-end projects, as well as feasibility (or prototype) projects in the use of Earth Science research (including satellite observations) to improve decision-making for weather-effected economic interests. The projects address a variety of themes including, but not limited to, the impact of weather on air travel, numerical weather prediction enhancement, space weather, the environmental impacts of air travel, and maritime transportation. |

Programmatic Activities: It is a goal of NASA's Weather application to seamlessly work with other agencies like the FAA and NOAA in meeting the challenges associated with aviation weather response and to transfer technologies to other agencies as they become operational. |
