Overview:

On Aug. 16, 2024, a glacial lake outburst caused flash floods and mudslides on the Thame River in Solukhumbu district , Nepal, impacting about 135 people in the village of Thame. The International Disasters Charter was activated for this event on Aug. 19. 

NASA's Disasters Response Coordination System (DRCS) activated in response to a request from SERVIR and their local partner, the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), to provide high resolution imagery for situational awareness.
