Each segment of the state outline (top to bottom) represents daily soil moisture averages collected on a quarterly interval in 2020. Red values indicate low soil moisture, while blue values indicate high soil moisture. Low soil moisture can inform periods of drought, an important consideration for water resource budgeting. Vegetation Condition Index (VCI) was calculated using 2018 NDVI data from EMODIS. NDVI data was then converted to VCI through a time series and then the image was  later processed. Central Kenya is displayed, red indicates less healthy vegetation (high vegetation stress) and blue indicates healthier vegetation (lower stress).
