A mining dam in the south-eastern town of Brumadinho, Brazil collapsed killing at least 58 people, with 300 more missing as rescue efforts continue in the search for survivors.

As the dam collapsed a large volume of sludge buried the sites near the cafeteria  where workers were eating. Nearby homes and vehicles were also submerged. In some areas the mud is almost 50 ft. deep.

The reason for the burst dam is not yet known. Brazil's largest mining company which owns the dam said 305 employees were still missing and 192 have been rescued.
