Extreme rainfall lasting over a week in Uruguay (peaking June 15-17) has led to severe flooding across many parts of the country. The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (INUMET) reported that between June 11-18, the maximum accumulated rainfall occurred in the town of Chamanga, Flores department, with 419.0 mm (16.5 in). 

According to the latest reports, two people have died and 8,520 people have been forced to abandon their homes across 8 departments. The most affected department is Durazno, with 6,428 displaced people, followed by Canelones where 1,463 people have left their homes. The National Transit Police Directorate reported that 12 major highways were cut off by the floods, with 5 still cut as of June 21.
