Keeping Communities Healthy
How can you tell when poor air quality is affecting your health? What underlying factors may come into play when a community experiences a public health crisis?
These questions are hard to answer without Earth-observing data. That’s where we come in.
Our team of health and air quality experts provide managers and policymakers with Earth observations that inform decisions about public health. We work closely with local, regional and national partners in the United States and around the world to understand and assess areas at risk of health and air quality issues. The tools, data and information our team offers help people live healthier — and more informed — lives.
We put data in the hands of policymakers to better inform their decisions about public health. Our project portfolio illustrates the impact NASA Earth observations can have on our overall health and well-being.
Our leadership team spearheads work on a range of public health issues, with a focus on environmental health and infectious diseases. They help our team of investigators and partners find innovative ways to use data to promote global health.
We work in close collaboration with partners that make our shared success possible. Premier organizations like the Centers for Disease Control and the Environmental Protection Agency help us provide communities around the world with the tools to protect public health and well-being.
