Managing Our Water Resources
When reservoir managers need data to plan ahead; when drought leaves a farmer without irrigation for crops; when drought puts pressure on the Navajo Nation’s water supply — NASA can help.
We work closely with the U.S. National Drought Monitor, the Western States Water Council and countless other organizations to provide solutions as global water supplies feel the stress of a rapidly changing world. Our team finds new uses for Earth-observing data and shares these solutions with the water resources management community. Water is one of our most important natural resources, and we’re focused on understanding its demand, supply and quality.
We help ensure that one of our most vital resources — water — keeps flowing. Our project portfolio illustrates how NASA Earth observations ebb and flow with the water resource management community.
Our leadership team paves the way for our team to incorporate Earth observations into water resources management strategies and decision making.
