Shades of purple indicate vegetated land surface, while darker orange shades show the built landscape; meanwhile, shades of yellow indicate water bodies. Areas of low NDVI are at-risk of high temperatures and is an indicator for Maryland’s transit system to focus on communities most vulnerable of urban heat island impacts.
